Hundreds of people marched to Leinster House as part of the annual trans and intersex Pride march today.

Organisers say the march is in opposition to the treatment of trans people by the Government, pointing to long waiting times for trans healthcare.

The march was also held in opposition to the rise of the far-right in Ireland.

Protesters marched from the Garden of Remembrance shortly after 2pm and travelled down O'Connell Street before arriving at Government Buildings.

Several chanted demands for better trans healthcare and recognition.

Speakers have now concluded their speeches, asking for better protection against discrimination and the implementation of hate speech legislation.

The event has ended and marchers are dispersing.
