Rail services in Dublin were disrupted during morning rush hour after a vehicle hit a level-crossing barrier in Sandymount.

Iarnród Éireann said that northbound DART and commuter services were suspended from 8.30am until after 9am.

It apologised to passengers for the inconvenience, but warned of delays of up to 25 minutes after services resumed.

Dublin Bus honoured rail tickets during the disruption.
