Two men have been arrested as part of a murder investigation into the fatal stabbing of a man in Dublin.
The victim, who was in his 30s, was found fatally injured at the front garden of a house on Collins Place in Finglas just after 7pm yesterday evening.
Gardaí and the emergency services were called and paramedics tried to resuscitate the man but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His body has been removed from the scene, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today.
Gardaí believe he died following a row among a number of people at Collins Place.
It is believed a woman who was known to the victim was also injured in the attack and may have sustained stab wounds to her hand.
Two men, both in their 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being held at Finglas and Blanchardstown Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The area has been sealed off as a crime scene for a forensic examination by specialists from the Garda Technical Bureau.
An incident room was being set up at Finglas Garda Station and a senior investigating officer and family liaison officer have been appointed.
Detectives are trying to establish a motive for the murder and say they are keeping an open mind and following all lines of inquiry.
They do not believe the killing is feud related but suspect it could be linked to drugs.
They are also trying to identify and speak to all those who were in the area at the time.
Gardaí at Finglas are to conduct house-to-house inquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them at Finglas Garda Station.
