Guns and drugs worth €210,000 seized in Dublin

Gardaí have seized cocaine valued at around €210,000 along with two firearms and ammunition during a search operation in Finglas, Dublin 11.

Gardaí carried out a search operation at a residential complex in Finglas. During the course of the search, they seized suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €210,000.

Further items which were seized include sealed pre-rolled cannabis joints and mixing agents. The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

Gardaí also seized two firearms; an assault rifle and a machine pistol with a silencer, as well as a quantity of ammunition.

No arrests have been made to date and investigations are ongoing.

Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy said: "The purpose of these firearms are to intimidate, harm and kill.

"I commend all of my colleagues involved in this operation on the recovery of these lethal weapons, which have now been removed from the control of criminal gangs."
