Gardaí have begun a murder investigation following the death of a 60-year-old man in Dublin at the weekend.
Adnan Asic had been walking home after a night out in the Blanchardstown area when he was violently assaulted.
Initially, gardaí could not explain his injuries but a post-mortem revealed he died as a result of a violent assault.
Mr Asic was originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina but had been living in Ireland for nearly 30 years.
He was found lying on the ground at a busy junction in Blanchardstown with serious injuries just before 3am on Saturday morning.
He was rushed to Connolly Hosptial but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to keep the family informed of the investigation.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North, the Old Navan Road, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and surrounding areas between midnight and 3am on Saturday, 22 October 2022, and observed any activity which drew their attention to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to taxi drivers who may have dash cam footage.
