Two new 24-hour Dublin Bus services will begin this weekend.

The fourth phase of BusConnects - the 'G Spine' - will start running on Sunday covering areas in Ballyfermot, Liffey Valley, Clondalkin, Islandbridge and the city centre.

Three new routes are being introduced - G1, G2 and Route 60 - which will be operated by Dublin Bus, with the G1 and G2 services running 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The start of this service will coincide with the removal of the 79 and 79a routes, as well as the Liffey Valley to city centre part of route 40.

The new timetable on the G Spine section between Ballyfermot and the city centre will see buses operating every eight minutes from 6am to 10pm on weekdays, while the Route 60 service will operate every 60 minutes from 5am to 11pm on weekdays.

There will also be additional peak time journeys on this route during school term time in the mornings and afternoons between Cherry Orchard and the city centre.

National Transport Authority CEO Anne Graham said with the launch of his phase there will be ten routes operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week across Dublin.

Acting CEO of Dublin Bus Andrea Keane said the G Spine and Route 60 services will offer people 24-your access to the docklands and key parts of Dublin's business district.
