Death of man in north Dublin a tragic accident - gardaí

Gardaí have said they are treating the death of a man who's body was recovered from the Royal Canal in Dublin as a tragic accident.

The discovery was made at around 12.30pm at Ballybough Bridge.

The man's body was taken to the City Morgue in Whitehall for a post-mortem examination.

An examination of the scene has also taken place.
