A march has been held in Dublin to mark Trans Pride, with organisers saying the event aimed to "liberate us from oppressive and rigid gender roles and to challenge the homophobic and transphobic attacks our community has suffered over the last few years".
Trans and Intersex Pride Dublin said the past two years have seen an unprecedented number of attacks levelled against trans people.

The demonstration was described as an opportunity to protest for trans and intersex rights but also a celebration of victories for the community.
Ollie Bell, Trans and Intersex Pride founder added: "Trans and Intersex Pride is a corporation-free grassroots protest where we can demand our rights as well as celebrating how far we have come."
