Chapters Bookstore reopens in Dublin city centre

Chapters Bookstore in Dublin has reopened, after closing for what was thought to be the final time in January after 40 years' trading.

The iconic Dublin bookshop will continue to trade new and second hand books for its loyal customer base.

The shop announced it was closing at the end of January after 40 years in the business.

However, the store has reopened after being bought by the owners of GameStop.

The shop is close to the hearts of the new owners Michael Finucane and Kevin Neary.

They opened their first Gameworld shop at the back of the old Chapters store on Middle Abbey Street.

The business rebranded to GameStop in 2003.

The new owners said they had been shocked at the outpouring of emotion that was directed towards the Chapters Bookstore when the closure was announced.

And the story of chapters book store is not over yet with the first online sale in 40 years expected in the coming weeks.
