Dublin motorists will pay an average increase of 10% for on-street parking charges in the city from today, 1 February.
This will bring the maximum payment to €3.50 for a cash payment in the Yellow Zone.
However, there are reduced rates for those using the Mobile App Parking Tag.
The maximum charge was previously increased to €3:20 from €2.90 in 2019.
Dermot Stevenson, the city council's Parking Enforcement Officer, said the increases which went for public consultation and were agreed by councillors are intended to deter long-stay parking.
"We also want to encourage sensible parking in the city as well as asking motorists to consider alternative transport methods other than the private car," he said.
The cash rate in the Red Zone will be €3, in the Green Zone it will be €1.80 and €1.60 in the White Zone.
The Orange Zone will have a cash rate of €1.10.
Meanwhile, national laws have doubled the fines for illegal parking on footpaths, cycle tracks and bus lanes from €40 to €80.
