Man dies in Dún Laoghaire drowning

A man in his 40s whose body was removed from the water in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin last night has died.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene yesterday evening and the man's body was recovered from the water at around 10pm.

He was transferred to St Vincent's University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out.

An investigation is under way and gardai said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
