Two beaches in south Dublin are closed to bathers due to bacterial contamination of bathing water.
Temporary bathing prohibition warning notices have been put in place at Killiney Beach and White Rock Beach today, after elevated levels of bacteria were found in the water.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are advising the public not to swim at these locations until further notice.
The county council said they are monitoring the situation and are communicating with all stakeholders.
It said updates will be issued on our website and on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council social media outlets.
It added that information will be posted at each of the designated bathing areas.
The county council said an additional sample and testing of the bathing water is being carried out and results will be made available on www.beaches.ie.
