A murder investigation is under way following the death of a man in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
A 16-year-old boy is being questioned in connection with the incident.
Gardaí are still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the man in Kilmainham.
It is understood the victim, who was homeless and in his 40s, was attacked and his phone stolen on a laneway off Madison Road before 1.30am.
The man sustained serious injuries during the attack and died at the scene.

A number of teenagers were in the area at the time.
The attack was reported to gardaí and a 16-year-old boy was arrested.
He is being detained at Kevin Street Garda Station and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
