Two men have been arrested after seven people were injured during an aggravated burglary in Co Dublin.

The incident happened at an apartment complex in Leopardstown at around 3pm yesterday afternoon.

The men, in their early 40s, entered the apartment but were interrupted when they were heard by residents in the next room.

Gardaí say the men were detained by the residents, a number of whom were assaulted during the incident.

Gardaí attended the scene as the two men were attempting to flee, and they were arrested.

A hammer was seized as well as property that was taken from the apartment.

All seven residents in the apartment at the time were injured during the incident, and some of them sought medical attention.

The two men are being held at Dundrum Garda Station.
