Over 100 suspected stolen bicycles with an estimated value of €250,000 have been seized during a search in Co Dublin.
Gardaí discovered 116 bicycles during the search of a container on allotments in Newcastle earlier today.
Dublin Fire Brigade had to assist gardaí in obtaining entry into the 40-foot container.
Gardaí said that due to the uniqueness and specialisation of the items recovered, they estimated that the total value is around €250,000.
Officers from the Street Crime Unit at Pearse Street Garda Station will attempt to identify the rightful owners of the bikes and contact them.
Investigations are ongoing.
