A man in his 30s is being treated in hospital after a shooting in the Tallaght area of Dublin.

The incident happened at the Mac Uilliam estate on Fortunestown Lane at around 6.20pm.

Gardaí were alerted to reports that shots were fired at a house.

On arrival they found the man with apparent pellet wounds to his legs.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.
