Gardaí and the Army Explosives Ordnance Disposal team have attended the scene of an incident at Christchurch in Dublin city centre.
The area was cordoned off this afternoon while the EOD team carried out its work.
Gardaí say that investigations have concluded.
Christchurch Place was closed inbound and outbound, between the Castle Street and Nicholas Street junctions, but has since reopened and traffic diversions have been lifted.
