Two men have been arrested after gardaí discovered drugs, firearms, cash and other items in an apartment in Dublin's north inner city.
The men, aged 26 and 32, are being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station and can be questioned for up to seven days.
Officers from the Mountjoy Community Action Team raided an apartment on Dominic Street just before 6pm this evening.
They found two firearms, a handgun and a rifle, €15,000 worth of heroin, €6,500 worth of cannabis plants as well as a €24,000 watch and €6,000 worth of clothes.
Gardaí say the search was the result of an intelligence led operation and the two men, who only recently came to garda attention, are not thought to be linked to the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud.
The Mountjoy District Community Action Team is involved in drug detection and enforcement and operates on a pilot basis under the Garda Community Policing Model.
