Family of stabbed teen express faith in justice system

The family of a teenager who was fatally stabbed in south Dublin on Friday evening have said they have faith in the Irish justice system to hold the perpetrators to account.

Azzam Raguragui, an 18-year-old from the Dundrum area, was stabbed in Finsbury Park in Dundrum just after 8pm on Friday 10 May.

He was treated at the scene by emergency services before he being taken to St James's Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A teenager presented himself at a garda station in south Dublin on Saturday afternoon and is assisting gardaí with their inquiries.

In a statement, the family have said they are grateful for the community support that they have received.

They asked for space and privacy to allow them to grieve as a family.

At the weekend Superintendent Martin McGonnell at Dundrum Garda Station expressed his thanks to all the members of the public who have provided information in relation to this investigation.
