A man in his 20s has been arrested today following a shooting incident in Blanchardstown on Tuesday.

The incident, in which shots were fired at around 3.40pm on Tuesday 2 April, happened outside Riversdale Community College in Blanchardstown.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Today, gardaí carried out two searches in the Corduff area, during which time they arrested the man.

He is detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, and can be detained for up to 72 hours.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the school between 3pm and 3.40pm to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station.

In particular, gardaí are looking for any person driving along Blanchardstown Road North or Corduff Grove who may have dashcam footage.

They are also appealing for anyone who observed any unusual activity near the school in recent days to make contact with Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-6669700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
