Two women were injured when a man stole a car from the grounds of St James's Hospital in Dublin yesterday evening.
The man approached a woman in an underground car park at the hospital at around 6.20pm and demanded the keys to her car.
However, he was unable to start the vehicle and left the scene.
He then approached a second woman, who was in the hospital grounds with her five-year-old son, and demanded the keys to her car.
A struggle ensued and the woman was knocked to the ground.
She suffered minor injuries to her hand and knee. The child was not hurt.
The man drove off in the woman's car, colliding with another car and crashing into a security barrier.
The stolen car was later found burned out on Bonham Street in Dublin 8.
A garda investigation is under way into the incident.
