A 20-year-old man has been arrested following a search operation in Dublin in which a sub-machine gun was recovered.
A search was carried out in the Balgaddy area of Lucan yesterday evening as part of ongoing investigations into serious crime.
A loaded 'PM-63 RAK' sub-machine gun and an additional clip of ammunition was discovered.
The arrested man is being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.
