Luas operator Transdev has launched a campaign which aims to raise awareness of the danger of cyclists breaking red lights.
Transdev has said that Luas drivers see the dangers of cyclists breaking red lights on a daily basis, and drivers are forced to "suddenly apply the emergency brake, in doing so also slowing the whole service".
The company says that it wants to educate cyclists that breaking red lights and colliding with a Luas tram may result in serious injury or death.
It released CCTV footage which showed near misses between cyclists and trams.

Communications Manager at Transdev Dervla Brophy said: "Whilst Luas can assure customers how safe the system is to travel on, we must also shine a light on the actions of these gambler cyclists.
"We must reduce the number of emergency brakes the trams are forced to make because of reckless cyclist behaviour, we must ensure that cyclists see the footage and understand the trams cannot swerve and take time to stop."
