Two dogs have been rescued by members of the Coast Guard in separate incidents in Dublin.
This evening a member of the public reported that their dog had become trapped 4.5m down a cliff at Red Rock in Sutton.
A team from the Howth Coast Guard station were dispatched to the cliff and a climber was lowered down to the dog.
The Coast Guard member lowered Marley, a three-year-old Golden Retriever, to the beach below where he was reunited with his owner.
Earlier today another member of the public contacted the Coast Guard after their dog swam out into a shipping lane in Dublin Bay from the Bull Wall on Dollymount and was unable to return.
A unit from Howth responded along with a Dublin Port boat and rescued the dog from the water.
The Coast Guard commended both owners for contacting them immediately and waiting for assistance rather than attempting to rescue the animals themselves.
