A man has been arrested after a garda was assaulted with a bladed weapon following a burglary at a business premises in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí were called to the scene of the burglary in Blanchardstown at 3.45am.
As they searched the premises, gardaí came across a man in his 30s in possession of a bladed weapon who became aggressive and threatening.
A garda in his 20s was injured and taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
The man was subsequently arrested and is being held at a garda station in Dublin.
The bladed weapon was seized at the scene along with €1,500 in cash.
