A woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Wayne Whelan in Lucan in Dublin last November.

The woman, who is in her 30s, was detained this morning and is being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.

A man, aged his 30s who was arrested yesterday, is still being detained at Lucan Garda Station.

Another man, aged is in his 40s, who was also arrested yesterday has been released without charge.

A file being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Whelan, from west Dublin, was shot dead before the car he was in was set on fire at Mount Andrew Rise in Lucan on 18 November.

He was identified through DNA.

Two men were charged with Mr Whelan's murder In December.
