The Criminal Assets Bureau has seized two high-end cars as part of an investigation into the assets of an organised crime gang in west Dublin.

CAB searched five locations including homes, a solicitors office, an accountants office and a gym.

An Audi Q5 SUV and a Toyota Hilex pick-up as well as documentation relating to the ownership of the houses and gyms has been seized.

The gang is a target of CAB and the drugs and Organised Crime Bureau under Operation Compact.

Gardaí said it is run by two brothers who are involved in supplying heroin and other drugs in west Dublin and are linked to the Kinahan Organised Crime Gang.

Gang leaders have already been served with tax demands on the proceeds of crime for over €1m.
