A man in his 30s has been shot dead at a caravan park in Clogherhead, Co Louth.

He was shot a number of times at the park on the Clogherhead to Termonfeckin Road at around 2.50pm this afternoon.

The man was outside a mobile home when the attack happened. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood the shots were fired from a passing car.

A number of stray bullets hit two parked cars nearby.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.

Gardaí believe the shooting is related to the ongoing feud in Drogheda.

The victim is thought to be a close associate of one of the main figures in the feud.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have noticed anything suspicious in the Clogherhead area earlier today.
