A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the death of Kane McCormack.
The 24-year-old was shot dead and his body discovered on farmland in Co Meath in December 2017.
His death is believed to be linked to the Kinahan-Hutch feud. Mr McCormack's father Noel Kirwan was shot dead in December 2016.
On the night of Mr McCormack's disappearance, he told his partner that he was going to meet somebody.
When he did not return and nothing was heard from him, his partner contacted gardaí to report him missing.
Hours later his body was found on farmland at Walterstown near the Meath-Kildare border.
He had been shot in the head.
This is the second arrest in the garda investigation.
The man arrested today, who is serving a prison sentence for an unrelated offence, was taken from prison this morning.
He is being held at Ashbourne Garda Station in Co Meath.
