Vehicles and cash seized in series of CAB raids

Several vehicles, cash and items have been seized in Dublin during a series of searches by the Criminal Assets Bureau, gardaí and customs officials.

Ten searches were conducted as part of today's action.

Five were at residential addresses, and four were at business premises in Dublin.

One search was carried out at a business premises in Galway.

A 2016 Fiat camper van worth around €100,000, a 2017 Volkswagen Transporter van valued at €20,000 and a Volkswagen Golf worth €13,500 were seized.

Approximately £3,500 sterling and a ladies' Rolex watch were also seized, as well as some documents and electronic devices which will be analysed.

The searches were jointly carried out by the CAB, local gardaí, the regional public order unit, the Dublin armed response unit, revenue customs officers, ESB staff, and the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (stolen motor vehicle investigation unit).

During the operation, two people were arrested; one as part of a robbery investigation and one as part of an assault investigation.

"The CAB investigation into assets suspected of being derived from criminal conduct is continuing and today's search operation represents significant progress in the investigation," said Chief Superintendent Clavin, CAB Bureau Chief.
