Two men are to appear before Wexford District Court tomorrow morning charged in connection with the seizure of €1.7m in cash.

Gardaí investigating the Kinahan crime gang had arrested five people on suspicion of money laundering.

It follows the seizure of the €1.7m in Wexford and Dublin yesterday.

Money, which had been vacuum-packed, was found in holdall bags and seized.

Gardaí believe the money was ready to be moved out of the country.

Two follow-up searches at houses in Dublin and Wexford uncovered more cash.

Four men were arrested yesterday on suspicion of money laundering and a woman was arrested today.

Two of the men are due in court tomorrow morning while the two other men and the woman have been released without charge and files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
