A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Noel Kirwan, who was shot dead at his home in Ronanstown in Dublin last year.
Jason Keating, with an address at Lower Main Street, Rush, was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court again on Friday.
He was granted free legal aid.
In a murder case, a bail application can only be made in the High Court. Legal aid was granted.
Noel Kirwan, 62, was a friend of Gerard Hutch and the tenth victim of the ongoing feud between the Hutch and Kinahan crime gangs.
He was shot dead in front of his partner in the driveway of his home at St Ronan's Drive, Clondalkin, on 22 December.

Detective Sergeant Damien Gannon gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution at Blanchardstown District Court.
He told the court that he arrested Mr Keating at 11.57pm last Saturday in Lucan and when he was charged 30 minutes later with murder, he made no reply.
