The sentencing of a 48-year-old man who pleaded guilty to making an online threat to kill or cause serious harm to Tánaiste Simon Harris and his family in August of last year has been put back until next February.
Patrick Grealish, with an address at Garraí An Choirce, in Leitir Mealláin, Co Galway, appeared before Judge John King at Doire an Fhéich District Court in Conamara.
Grealish pleaded guilty last October to the offence and the matter was put back to allow for a probation report and a victim impact statement.
The court was told today that the victim impact statement was ready, however, a further eight weeks was required for the probation report.
Grealish was arrested and charged in August 2024 with making a threat to Mr Harris, intending for him to believe it would be carried out, to kill or cause him and his family serious harm.
The initial hearing was told that Grealish had cooperated with the gardaí when he was first arrested.
Defence solicitor Michael Cunningham informed the court then that Grealish was the sole carer for his elderly mother and had his own health problems.
The case was put back until 17 February 2026.
