The President of the High Court has heard an urgent application from the Child and Family Agency Tusla in relation to a child described as very vulnerable.
Mr Justice David Barniville made a number of urgent orders yesterday to secure the protection of the minor, under the court's minor wardship jurisdiction and adjourned proceedings until today.
The court directed that the hearing be in private, but allowed limited details to be reported following an application by the media this afternoon, on behalf of RTÉ, the Irish Times and Mediahuis, the publishers of the Irish Independent.
The minor was represented in court by a Guardian ad Litem as well as solicitors and barristers.
The court also heard this afternoon from the child’s parents. The HSE was also represented.
Mr Justice Barniville agreed to continue and vary the orders he made yesterday to secure the child’s protection and the matter will be back before the court on Tuesday.
