A 51-year-old man has been charged with the murder of an elderly woman whose body was discovered at her home in Co Tipperary last year.
Hasan Ali Gori, aged 51, of no fixed abode, was charged with the murder of 89-year-old Josephine 'Josie' Ray at St Joseph’s Park in Nenagh on Sunday 4 August 2024.
Detective Garda Padraig O’Leary gave evidence at Nenagh District Court of arresting and charging Mr Gori at 10.04am.
He said the accused replied, "I know nothing, sir" when charged and cautioned.

There was no application for bail as bail cannot be granted on a murder charge before the District Court.
Defence solicitor Colin Morrissey asked for free legal aid for the client.
Judge Fiona Brennan remanded Mr Gori in custody to appear before Nenagh District Court via video link on 23 October.
