A 21-year-old man has appeared in Ballymena Magistrates' Court accused of rioting on two consecutive days earlier this month.
Having been remanded into custody when he was first charged on Saturday, Jack Redmond appeared before the court by video link from prison.
Mr Redmond, from Upper Princess Street, Ballymena, is accused of rioting on 9 and 10 June.
A PSNI officer told the court that Mr Redmond had been identified by members of the public following a media appeal where police released images of alleged rioters.
She said police were objecting to bail due to the risk of further offences, given the allegation that Mr Redmond had been engaged in serious rioting on two consecutive nights.
District Judge Natasha Fitzsimmons refused bail and remanded Mr Redmond back into custody and adjourned the case to 28 July.
