A judge in the case of former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife on historical sexual offences will review it later this month after receiving medical reports.

A review hearing at Newry Crown Court was told the judge had received three separate medical reports, with a further health assessment due to take place next month.

At the end of a short hearing Judge Paul Ramsey said he will review the case again at the end of June and early August.

The trial of the couple was originally scheduled to take place in March but is now due to begin on 3 November.

Eleanor Donaldson, aged 59, has pleaded not guilty to three charges of aiding and abetting her husband and the court has previously been told she will also be pleading not guilty to two other charges.

Mr Donaldson, aged 62, has pleaded not guilty to 18 charges including one count of rape, four counts of gross indecency and 13 charges of indecent assault.

The charges relate to offences allegedly committed against two plaintiffs between 1985 and 2008.
