The jury in the trial of Richard Satchwell, who is accused of the murder of his wife at their home in Cork just over eight years ago, has gone home for the evening and will resume deliberations in the morning.

Mr Satchwell has pleaded not guilty to murdering Tina Satchwell between 19 and 20 March 2017.

He reported her missing on 24 March.

Her body was found buried under the stairs in their home in October 2023.

The jurors have spent eight hours and 37 minutes deliberating so far and will continue tomorrow.

Deliberations began on Tuesday in the trial which began at the end of last month and heard evidence from around 50 witnesses.
