A man is due to appear before the Criminal Court of Justice charged in connection with an investigation into alleged money laundering.
The man, who is aged in his 60s, was driving on the M50 northbound yesterday, when he was stopped by gardaí on a routine patrol.
Gardaí have said that during a search of the vehicle, €230,430 in cash was found.
The man was arrested and questioned at a garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
An investigation is under way, and gardaí have said that the man was charged and is due to appear before court this morning.
