Five men have appeared in court charged in connection with the looting and rioting that took place in Dublin last November.
They face a variety of charges including theft from shops, violent disorder, criminal damage to a Dublin Bus and possession of drugs and stolen property.
Three were remanded on bail to appear again at the Dublin District Court in October, one was remanded in custody while the fifth man is expected to apply for bail later today.
Gardaí investigating the riots brought the five men before the Dublin District Court this morning.
Thomas Fox, 21, with an address at Kinlay House Hostel in Dublin is facing six charges.
He is charged with theft from Footlocker, violent disorder at Burgh Quay, criminal damage to a Dublin Bus on O'Connell Bridge on 23 November 2023, and unlawful possession of cocaine and cannabis at his hostel yesterday for sale or supply.
He is expected to make a bail application later today.
Corey Gaynor, 23, from Margaret Kennedy Road in Dublin, has been charged with five offences.
He is charged with stealing from Arnotts on Henry Street and from Spar and the Guud Day Café, both on O'Connell Street.
He is also charged with rioting on 23 November and possession of stolen property.
Gardaí said they would object to bail for Mr Gaynor and he was remanded in custody after no bail application was made.
Gavin Hudson, 27, from Summerhill Place, is accused of stealing from Footlocker and Lifestyle Sports on Mary Street, and possession of stolen property including a backpack, a kettle, headphones, an electric bike battery and a mix of cosmetics and creams.
The court was told that he was extremely sick and had not had his medication for two days.
He was a carer to his brother who died recently, and the court was told he has not got a penny and is on his own in the world.
Judge Monika Leech said he would require medical attention and granted him bail on condition he sign on daily and stay away from Henry Street and Mary Street.
Gavin Murphy (pictured below), 44, from Oriel Hall, is charged with theft from Footlocker on O'Connell Street.
He was granted bail on condition that he sign on three times a week at Store Street Garda Station, provide a phone number and stay away from O'Connell Street.
Jamie Robinson (pictured below), 24, from Windmill Avenue in Crumlin is accused of stealing from the Gala Shop on Lower Abbey Street, and possession of stolen property, eight boxes of cigarettes, a Puma Hoodie and socks.
He was also granted bail on similar conditions, but the court was told that while he lives with his grandmother in Crumlin, he needs to go into Dublin city centre to see his partner and three-month-old child.
Judge Leech also imposed a curfew on him between 11pm and 6am and remanded him and Mr Murphy to appear again in court in October.
