A man has been found guilty by a jury at the Central Criminal Court in Cork of the murder of his brother, 42-year old father-of-seven Thomas Dooley at a funeral in Tralee, Co Kerry, in October, 2022.

Two men and a teenager were convicted of Mr Dooley's murder yesterday.

One of those was also found guilty of assaulting Mr Dooley's wife Siobhan Dooley.

This afternoon, the jury returned to the courtroom with a unanimous guilty verdict in the case of 36-year old Patrick Dooley, of Arbutus Grove, Killarney, Co Kerry.

He is a younger brother of the deceased man.

The jury had been deliberating for almost 12-and-a-half hours, and today was day 32 of the trial.

Yesterday, the jury found the dead man's brother-in-law, 43-year old Thomas Dooley Senior, and his cousin, 21-year old Thomas Dooley Junior, both of Bay 10, Halting Site, Carrigrohane, Cork, guilty of the murder of Thomas Dooley.

The jury also found a male teenager guilty of the murder.

A guilty verdict was also returned yesterday in the case of Thomas Dooley Junior on a count of assaulting the deceased's wife, causing her harm.

All four of those verdicts were also unanimous.

The jury will resume deliberations on Tuesday morning in the case of the remaining two accused.

They are 29-year-old Michael Dooley of Bay 11, Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road, Cork, and 42-year-old Daniel Dooley, of An Carraigín, Connolly Park, Tralee, Co Kerry.

Both are cousins of the dead man.
