A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a garda charged with the sexual assault and false imprisonment of a woman in a garda station in Co Wicklow almost four years ago.

William Ryan, aged 38, pleaded not guilty this morning to three charges of sexual assault and one of false imprisonment at Aughrim Garda Station in September 2020.

The trial is expected to last up to nine days and will open before the jury tomorrow.
