The wife of 42-year-old father of seven Thomas Dooley has resumed her evidence in the trial of six people charged with his murder.
Siobhán Dooley is being cross-examined at the Central Criminal Court by lawyers for the six accused.
They include Thomas Dooley's brother and three of his first cousins.
Thomas Dooley died when he was attacked as he attended a funeral in Tralee, Co Kerry, on 5 October, 2022, and suffered what the prosecution described as savage injuries inflicted by a group acting with focused and murderous ferocity.
Before the court are: 36-year-old Patrick Dooley of 33 Arbutus Grove, Killarney, Co Kerry, a brother of the deceased; 43-year-old Thomas Dooley senior and 21-year-old Thomas Dooley Junior, both of Bay 10, Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road, Cork; 29-year-old Michael Dooley of Bay 11, Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road, Cork; and 42-year-old Daniel Dooley, of An Caraigín, Connolly Park, Tralee, Co Kerry.
The sixth person is a teenager.
All six have pleaded not guilty.
In cross-examination, Senior Counsel Brendan Grehan put it to Mrs Dooley that there had been a falling out between her family and Thomas Dooley senior and his family.
Mr Grehan is representing Patrick Dooley.
Siobhán Dooley recalled 28 November, 2019.
She said the trouble only started when a family member would not agree to marry Thomas' son.
She said the family member "left" Thomas senior's son, Thomas, that day.
Mrs Dooley said it was the date of the wedding of another one of her daughter's.
"We never had words. We never actually fell out. We never exchanged words," she said.
She said they could not accept the family member not marrying Thomas.
"We never fell out," Mrs Dooley said. "There was a clear break. We never communicated after that; we never spoke. We weren't speaking, but we never fell out."
Cross-examination of Siobhán Dooley has ended for the day.
It is expected to continue when the trial resumes tomorrow morning.
Two of the legal teams representing the six people charged with Thomas Dooley's murder have completed their cross-examination of Mrs Dooley.
