Solicitor Ammi Burke's behaviour during a High Court case last month was "extraordinary, unusual and unprecedented," a judge has said, as well as being a "blatant abuse of the court process".
Ms Justice Marguerite Bolger was giving her reasons for dismissing the case taken by Ms Burke over the rejection by the Workplace Relations Commission of her unfair dismissal claim.
The judge dismissed the case after a two-day hearing in which she repeatedly asked Ms Burke to stop interrupting while other parties were making their submissions.
In her ruling, she said Ms Burke's behaviour before the court on 4 May in repeatedly engaging in a "loud, scripted mantra of objections to a decision that had already been made" made it impossible for the court to continue the hearing.
The judge said there was no justification for the behaviour nor could there be.
Ms Justice Bolger said it was a blatant abuse of the court process and it continued despite the court giving Ms Burke time to reflect on her behaviour and the consequences of it.
She said the court had been compelled to dismiss the claim as no alternative option had been identified that would have enabled the hearing to continue.
The judge said she would deal with the matter of costs next month.
