Former civilian garda charged over disclosure of PULSE information

A woman who was a former civilian staff member of An Garda Síochána and a man have been before the District Court in Co Dublin, charged with corruption offences related to disclosing information from the Garda PULSE computer system.

Holly Hayden, 26, of Charlesland Woods in Greystones was arrested and charged this morning by gardaí attached to the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and brought before the District Court in Dún Laoghaire.

She is charged with disclosing confidential information from the PULSE system on 29 October 2019 relating to an individual, knowing the disclosure was likely to have a harmful effect, contrary to the Garda Síochána Act.

She is also charged with three counts of accessing confidential information from the PULSE system at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station relevant to an individual and subsequently disclosing that information to corruptly obtain a gift, consideration or advantage on 6 and 9 September and 29 October 2019.

She is further charged with accessing and disclosing confidential information relating to scheduled Covid-19 checkpoints for the purpose of corruptly obtaining a gift, consideration or advantage.

Daniel Webb, 33, with an address at Charlesland Grove, also in Greystones, was charged with three offences of corruptly agreeing to give Ms Hayden cocaine as a reward for information.

He is charged with corruptly agreeing to give a gift, namely cocaine, or consideration or advantage to Ms Hayden as an inducement to her to disclose information on the PULSE system to him, relating to an individual, on 6 and 9 September 2019.

Mr Webb is also charged with the same offence in relation to the disclosure of information about himself on 9 September 2019.

They have been remanded to appear again in court at a later date.
