Four members of a Dublin family face trial accused of insurance fraud.
Winnifred Lawrence, 72, of Moorefield Grove, Clondalkin, Eileen Lawrence, 50, Patrick Lawrence, 58, and Thomas Lawrence, 21, of Moyglas Glade, Lucan, appeared at Dublin District Court today.
Judge Treasa Kelly noted the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) directed trial on indictment in the Circuit Court.
There was no objection to bail.
Judge Kelly ordered them to appear again in the district court on 6 May to be served with books of evidence and then returned for trial.
It follows an investigation by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau.
Detectives met them by appointment this morning at Clondalkin Garda Station to be charged.
Together, they are accused of 60 offences contrary to the Theft and Fraud and the Civil Liability and Courts Acts.
Winnifred Lawrence had 18 charges, including allegations that on 11 September, 2012, she used deception to induce Liberty Insurance to compensate her for a false personal injuries claim and make a gain of €12,460. It was also alleged she instructed a named solicitor as part of the fraud.
Eileen Lawrence, a carer, had 23 charges. Among them was giving misleading information contrary to the Civil Liability and Courts Act.
Patrick Lawrence, who is unemployed but getting the disability benefit, had 17 charges. One related to an incident on 30 April, 2016, for the deception of the IPB Insurance company for gain.
Thomas Lawrence, who is also on disability benefit, faced two counts, including a charge for using another name in the deception of IPB Insurance.
Detectives Darren Hughes and Ivor Scully gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and outlined the DPP's directions.
The court heard they made no reply to the charges.
Detective Scully alleged there were "a number of offences in and around the city centre area".
Legal aid was granted.
