A 42-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to harassing former Sinn Féin TD Jonathan O'Brien.
Sonya Egan, of Lios Cara, Killeens, Blarney, Co Cork, appeared before Judge Helen Boyle at Cork Circuit Criminal Court where she was due to go on trial.
However, Donal O'Sullivan BL acting for the State told Judge Boyle that a jury would not be needed as Egan wanted to be arraigned on the two charges she faced.
Egan pleaded guilty to harassment contrary to Section 10(1) and (6) of the Non Fatal Offences against the Person Act, 1997 that she harassed Mr O'Brien at various locations on dates between 17 January 2018 and 9 January 2019.
She also pleaded guilty to a second charge of harassing Laura O'Connell at various locations on dates between 8 April 2018 and 26 June 2019.
Defence SC Anthony Sammon, instructed by Padraig J O'Connell solicitors in Killarney, asked for the case to be adjourned for mention.
He said a comprehensive psychiatric report would be required by the court for the sentence hearing.
There was no objection from the State to Mr Sammon's application.

Judge Boyle granted the application and put the case in for mention on 22 February when a date would be set for sentencing and victim impact statements would also be available.
The defendant was remanded on continuing bail on a number of the same conditions which require her to sign once a week at Gurranabraher Garda Station, have no contact direct or indirect with the injured parties or their families, stay off all social media, make no public mention about the injured parties, not discuss with anyone in relation to the injured parties except with solicitor, and reside at The Lawn, Lios Cara, Killeens.
She was required to only contact gardaí in the event of an emergency, and in all other circumstances to contact gardaí through her solicitor.
The former Cork North Central TD attended the brief court hearing.
