The Government has nominated Brian Murray for appointment to the Supreme Court.

He has been a judge on the Court of Appeal since 2019.

Mr Murray was called to the Bar in 1989 and became a senior counsel in 2002.

He presented at the Citizens' Assembly on Abortion in 2017 on the consequences of retaining, repealing or changing the Eighth Amendment.

Mr Murray fills the vacancy created by the retirement last year of former Chief Justice Frank Clarke.
