A 32-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a woman in Dublin earlier this month.

Sinead Connolly, a 30-year-old mother, was shot and seriously injured at her home in Bernard Curtis House in Bluebell on 6 March.

Joseph Byrne, from La Touche Road in Bluebell, was brought before Dublin District Court today.

He is charged with the attempted murder of Ms Connolly and possession of a semi-automatic handgun with intent to enable another person to endanger life.
