A 42-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the murder of another man in Enniscorthy last May.
David Bolger, with an address at Irish Street, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, was before Gorey District Court this afternoon in relation to the death of Przemyslaw Klimczuk on 1 May.
Detective Garda Paul Hayes told the court that he arrested the accused at 11.51am today at Irish Street and charged him at 12.33pm in Enniscorthy Garda Station.
The accused made no reply in relation to the charge.
The State applied for a remand in custody and Judge John Cheatle remanded the accused to appear before Cloverhill District Court by video link next Tuesday, 8 September.
Solicitor Edward King, for the accused, applied for legal aid, which was granted after the court heard that Mr Bolger is unemployed.
The solicitor also asked that his client be given the medication he is currently taking while on remand and this was directed by the judge.
Prezemylslaw Klimczuk was originally from Poland, but lived in Co Wexford for some years.
He was found seriously injured after an incident at a property in Ashbrook, Enniscorthy, on 1 May and pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
